The One at Flaming Gorge

Flaming Gorge is beee-yooo-teee-fullll!  Seriously gorgeous area.  Some friends of ours from church (Glenn and Amber) invited us to go jet skiing there the first weekend in August.  Camping and watersports?  We're there!  Unfortunately Justin's research group decided to plan a barbecue Saturday night that we had to hurry back for so it was a quick trip.  6 hours of driving + 8 hours sleeping = only 4 hours left for fun so we tried to pack as much in as we could!

We were the last to arrive at the campsite but we had the ice cream so as soon as we got there dessert (dutch oven cobbler) was served!  Yummy!!  The next morning Glenn taught us how to make Mountain Man breakfast.  *FYI- "Mountain Man" = carbs, carbs and more carbs :)  We definitely needed the energy.  Jet skiing, snorkeling, swimming.  The water was just cold enough and the day was sunny.  Good times with good friends!
We got there so late (and there were thankfully no bugs out)
that Justin and I just camped out under the stars.
Early morning view from our campsite- right on the water!
Justin and Glenn snorkeling in the rocks.  Apparently there
were a lot of fish swimming down there, but I didn't see any.
Taylor, Celeste and Carter on the jet skis.
Amber and Kasen- he did so well all day!
We had a sweet spot of "beach" right in front
of our campsite.  Perfect for switching out on
the jet skis.
I braved the fish to try out Justin's fins.
The fins worked so well I'd get far from shore too quickly for comfort!
So I would swim back as fast as I could!  Everyone thought this
was really funny for some reason.
This is why I swam back fast!  Glenn caught a crawdad.  Ewww!!
These are just pretty shots I took from the car on the way home.
